About ANASAZI Foundation
The ANASAZI Foundation helps adolescents ages 13 to 17 and young people ages 18 and above who are struggling with substance misuse, emotional and behavioral issues. Their program emphasizes spiritual and emotional growth and is set in the remote Arizona wilderness. Their program is Joint Commission accredited and accepts some insurance providers.
The ANASAZI Foundation’s program provides individual, group, and family therapy with an emphasis on wilderness therapy for clients. They treat substance use and mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and suicidality. They also address issues such as pornography misuse, failure to launch, school failure, low self esteem and family conflict.
The ANASAZI Foundation allows clients to heal in a distraction free environment and encourages greater personal responsibility. Clients learn to prepare their own meals and construct shelters to protect themselves from the weather. They can trek up to 10 miles in a day and seldom camp in the same spot for more than two nights. The program lasts between 28-56 days.
The ANASAZI Foundation provides intervention training for parents. It investigates the essential principles of successful communication, accountability, conflict resolution, long-term change, trust, collaboration, loyalty, and commitment in personal relationships. Additionally, they require parental participation at various points throughout the outdoor program which facilitates greater healing for clients.
