About BHG Franklin Treatment Center
BHG Franklin Treatment Center is part of Behavioral Health Group (BHG), one of the largest providers of medication-assisted treatment (
MAT) for opioid use disorder in the United States. Located in Franklin, Virginia, the center provides evidence-based opioid addiction treatment combining FDA-approved medications with counseling and comprehensive support services to help patients achieve lasting recovery.
Medication-Assisted Treatment Programs
BHG Franklin Treatment Center offers multiple medication options for opioid addiction treatment including methadone, provided through their opioid treatment program (OTP) with daily dosing under medical supervision; buprenorphine treatment (Suboxone); extended-release buprenorphine (Sublocade and Brixadi); and naltrexone treatment (Vivitrol). Each medication serves a specific role in recovery — methadone and buprenorphine help relieve withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings, while naltrexone blocks the effects of opioids. The medical team works with each patient to determine the most appropriate medication based on their individual clinical needs.
Counseling and Peer Recovery Support
Beyond medication management, BHG Franklin provides individual and group counseling services, comprehensive care coordination, and peer recovery support. Licensed counselors help patients develop the skills and strategies needed for long-term recovery, including relapse prevention planning, stress management, and relationship repair. Peer recovery support specialists — individuals with lived experience in recovery — provide additional guidance and encouragement, serving as role models for what sustained recovery looks like in daily life.
Patient-Centered Care Philosophy
At BHG, patients are welcomed into the care of doctors, nurses, counselors, peer support specialists, and other staff who provide treatment with dignity and respect. The center recognizes that the path to healing is different for everyone — some patients are just beginning treatment, others are returning after a pause, and some are transferring from another provider. Whatever the situation, the clinical team meets patients where they are and supports them with care plans tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.
