Focus

This center treats substance use disorders and mental health conditions. You'll receive individualized care catered to your unique situation and diagnosis, learn practical skills for recovery, and make new connections in a restorative environment.

For over 135 years, Bournewood Health Systems has been dedicated to helping adults (18+) and adolescents (12 to 18) in their journey to recovery from mental health disorders and substance misuse issues. Trauma-informed, person-centered treatment is the clinical foundation to their approach. Inpatient services include group therapy sessions designed specifically for young adolescents or adults and 24-hour access to a clinician. Outpatient services can be accessed online via telehealth. They also have partial hospital programs for those who need intensive treatment but not in a 24/7 inpatient setting. For adolescents, the goal is to get them back into the schooling system ready with successful strategies, and, if there are still complications, a clinician provides continued support. With multiple locations in Massachusetts, Bournewood Health is a system of support for those struggling with mental health issues, substance dependency, or dual diagnosis. Bournewood is additionally a teaching hospital for medical students, psychiatric residents, social workers, nursing students, and expressive therapy students from universities in the Boston area. Another one of their goals is to include the patients’ families into their treatment process through different classes and workshops. Bournewood accepts insurance, too.
