About Canopy Center Oasis Program
Part of the Canopy Center located near the Dane County Regional Airport, the Oasis Program offers individual, group, and family therapy for survivors of child sexual abuse and their families. Oasis is funded by the Department of Justice for Victims of Crime and the Dane County Department of Human Services and does not charge for treatment. The Canopy Center also houses the Dane and Columbia County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA), and the Parent to Child program, facilitating supervised visits.
Children and teens engage in individual treatment with a therapist who works closely with their non-offending caregivers during the session. Treatment includes trauma-specific therapy methods, play therapy, and sensory therapy. Oasis also offers group therapy for non-offending parents and caregivers, which includes strategies to help them parent and protect their child in the aftermath of sexual abuse. Therapists are further equipped to help advocate for clients facing trial and may join family members at hearings.
Oasis also offers a program for adult survivors of sexual abuse, which focuses on understanding to effects of childhood trauma and aims to promote healing. The group covers topics related to coping skills, emotional regulation, relationships, psychoeducation, self esteem, and more.
