Located in northwestern Wasatch County, Cascade Academy provides care for severe anxiety conditions through evidence-based therapies, recreational therapy, animal therapy, and nutritional support. Some of the conditions they treat include generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), OCD, agoraphobia, panic disorder, and body dysmorphic disorder. At the center, adolescent girls can participate in various adventure outings while continuing their education through small, teacher-led classes. College prep is also provided.
In addition, Cascade Academy has an evidence-based therapy emphasis and features therapies such as exposure response prevention (ERP), EMDR, motivational interviewing,
group therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy (
DBT). Some of their off-site recreational activities include rock climbing, downhill skiing, and mountain biking. The center emphasizes addressing the body, soul, and mind of clients and emphasizes themes such as authenticity, relationships, and resilience.
On their expansive green campus, clients can enjoy chef-prepared meals, play tennis, do art projects, and participate in individual and group counseling sessions. Treatment is long-term and generally lasts 9 months. Campus Academy has shared bedrooms, classroom spaces, comfortable lounge areas, and shared TVs. They are Joint Commission accredited and accept self-pay, with scholarships and financial aid available.
Evidence-Based Context: According to SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health (2023), approximately 48.7 million Americans aged 12 or older had a substance use disorder in the past year. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) emphasizes that treatment programs combining behavioral therapy with medication-assisted approaches show the highest rates of sustained recovery. Facilities like Cascade Academy provide structured pathways to evidence-based care.
