Focus

This center treats substance use disorders and mental health conditions. You'll receive individualized care catered to your unique situation and diagnosis, learn practical skills for recovery, and make new connections in a restorative environment.

Established in 1986, Chrysalis House is one of a few residential recovery centers in Maryland that allows women to bring their children with them, removing a barrier to seeking treatment. Chrysalis House Healthy Start treats women aged 18 or older who are pregnant or have a child under 3 and have substance use or mental health conditions. They offer community‑based housing blending a safe, sober living environment with supportive, holistic recovery services. They use active, trauma‑informed care, including a recovery capital assessment, personalized service plans, and behavioral health therapy. Their whole-person support also offers prenatal and mother‑child medical visits, parenting training, life‑skills education, case management, and in‑house AA meetings. These services help women build strength, gain parenting skills, improve health, and reach independence. Healthy Start gives women safe, secure private living space with scheduled transportation during business hours. They also offer childcare and included meals, helping women and their children thrive long-term.
