Discovery Place is a non-profit recovery retreat for men that teaches 12-Step principles along with one-on-one counseling in comfortable settings throughout Nashville, Tennessee. Discovery Place provides 30, 60, and 90 day programs along with step down residential recovery. During recovery, “clients begin learning many of the skills required to build and sustain meaningful relationships through a wide variety of outside recovery meetings, social events, personal instruction from staff, and guidance from a host of dedicated professionals and volunteers.” A typical day starts out with morning breakfast followed by meditation or group meetings. After lunch, there are guided groups or meetings, and after dinner, clients fill their day with light chores or jobs. Free time is allowed each week, and clients can take advantage of the on-site gym, volleyball and basketball courts, fishing, frisbee golf course, or enjoy off-campus outings such as going to hockey games.
Discovery Place sits on 17 acres in Burns, Tennessee. Clients will enjoy comfortable accommodations along with plenty of space and a lake for fishing. Discovery Place is ready and waiting to offer unique services, meeting the client where they're at in life.

Understanding Your Treatment Options

Choosing the right treatment facility is one of the most important decisions in the recovery journey. Research published by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) shows that treatment duration, therapeutic approach, and aftercare planning are the three strongest predictors of long-term sobriety.

Discovery Place offers 2 distinct levels of care, allowing patients to step through treatment intensities as they progress. This continuum-of-care model — moving from higher to lower intensity — is recommended by SAMHSA as the gold standard for addiction treatment.

The facility utilizes 5 evidence-based therapeutic modalities. According to NIDA research, combination therapy approaches that integrate behavioral interventions (such as 1-on-1 Counseling and Family Therapy) with holistic support show significantly improved outcomes compared to single-modality programs.

Under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, most commercial insurance plans are required to cover substance abuse treatment. Discovery Place works with 24 insurance providers. Call (833) 567-5838 to verify your specific coverage and learn about out-of-pocket costs before admission.
