About Elite Recovery

Elite Recovery is a brand under Horowitz Health and is located in the Twin Cities area. They offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) both in-person and virtually with the programs typically lasting 16-24 weeks. Through their outpatient programming, they offer relapse prevention planning, the Minnesota Matrix Model, counseling for anger management, access to appointments with medically-assisted treatment providers, and more. Their in-person IOPs are gender specific and they offer a separate LGBTQIA+ program. This program is called Elite Affirm and individuals are expected to attend programming for a minimum of 12 weeks. The program meets Monday-Friday 9AM to 12:35PM and individuals will begin a step-down process after attending for 12 weeks which entails moving to 4 days per week and then 3 days per week.
For their partial hospitalization program (PHP), individuals must reside in one of Elite Recovery’s sober living homes while participating in the program. Each participant will meet with a licensed alcohol and drug counselor in the first five days following admission for at least one hour weekly. A clinician will also meet with each participant to complete a comprehensive assessment and develop an individual treatment plan with the patient. During the program, treatment plans are reviewed weekly to revise goals, objectives, and interventions as needed. The program offers additional medical services like psychiatric medication management nursing services, medication-assisted treatment, and nutrition and dietary counseling. In addition, they offer peer recovery support services (PRS) and treatment coordination, which focuses on connecting individuals with needed community resources. Individuals are expected to complete a minimum of 8 weeks of programming with programming being 25 hours a week, Monday-Friday 9AM-2:15PM. Lunch is served during weekly programing but all other meals are not provided.
Elite Recovery partners with many sober living homes to offer affordable sober living options for men, women, and those in the LGBTQ+ community. Individuals receive housing credit based on the hours they attended outpatient treatment at Elite Recovery and can apply it to their housing cost. Housing options range from $550 to $1200 a month.

Evidence-Based Context: According to SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health (2023), approximately 48.7 million Americans aged 12 or older had a substance use disorder in the past year. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) emphasizes that treatment programs combining behavioral therapy with medication-assisted approaches show the highest rates of sustained recovery. Facilities like Elite Recovery provide structured pathways to evidence-based care. Sources: SAMHSA NSDUH 2023, NIDA Principles of Drug Addiction Treatment (4th Ed.)

Understanding Your Treatment Options

Choosing the right treatment facility is one of the most important decisions in the recovery journey. Research published by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) shows that treatment duration, therapeutic approach, and aftercare planning are the three strongest predictors of long-term sobriety.

Elite Recovery offers 2 distinct levels of care, allowing patients to step through treatment intensities as they progress. This continuum-of-care model — moving from higher to lower intensity — is recommended by SAMHSA as the gold standard for addiction treatment.

The facility utilizes 9 evidence-based therapeutic modalities. According to NIDA research, combination therapy approaches that integrate behavioral interventions (such as 1-on-1 Counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) with holistic support show significantly improved outcomes compared to single-modality programs.

Under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, most commercial insurance plans are required to cover substance abuse treatment. Elite Recovery works with 24 insurance providers. Call (833) 567-5838 to verify your specific coverage and learn about out-of-pocket costs before admission.
