Situated in the mountains of British Columbia, Foothills Centre for Change provides personalized addiction treatment based on the client's unique background. Clients can choose 30, 60, or 90 day programs that include
medical detox, evidence-based therapies, and holistic services. Foothills also offers a 14-day intensive residential package for those who can’t stay for the typical 30 days. They integrate a well-rounded balance of individual and
group therapy sessions, 12-Step facilitation, social activities, exercise, healthy meals, and time for relaxation and reflection.
Therapeutic and educational groups help clients learn how to communicate honestly with themselves, while
cognitive behavioral therapy (
CBT) addresses the negative thoughts and actions related to addiction. Foothills Centre gets to the root of addiction by addressing co-occurring disorders such as personality disorders, grief, trauma, and anxiety. Foothills Centre treats the whole person (physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually) through their wellness program, which includes yoga, meditation, amino acid therapy, and social connection.
Surrounded by a peaceful setting, clients of Foothills Centre will enjoy private accommodations, weekly massages, and an infra-red sauna.
Family therapy sessions help reconnect clients with their closest support system. Treatment packages are arranged by length of stay and include private aftercare sessions. Foothill Centre for Change accepts most private insurance.
Evidence-Based Context: According to SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health (2023), approximately 48.7 million Americans aged 12 or older had a substance use disorder in the past year. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) emphasizes that treatment programs combining behavioral therapy with medication-assisted approaches show the highest rates of sustained recovery. Facilities like Foothills Centre for Change provide structured pathways to evidence-based care.
