Heroes’ Mile is a veterans-only program treating substance use disorder with inpatient and outpatient services. Their evidence-based treatment includes therapies such as group therapy, 1-on-1 therapy, recreational therapy, family/marriage counseling, nutrition education, and more. Heroes’ Mile addresses the impacts of PTS and MST experienced while serving in the military. They treat various addictions and psychological issues, including drug and alcohol use, PTSD, and military sexual trauma. The center also facilitates 12 Step meetings and offers counseling services for family members of clients. Some of their recreational activities include art therapy, equine therapy, and physical fitness. Heroes’ Mile is set on 10 acres of secluded land and is set on a nature-filled campus. They boast private and shared bedrooms, outdoor lounge spaces, a scenic pond area, a basketball court, and a volleyball court.
