La Amistad - Adult and Outpatient

Located just north of Orlando, La Amistad Behavioral Health Services helps people with mental health and substance use issues. They offer residential treatment for adults only, while their day treatment (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are available for both adults and teens. A dedicated program for active-duty military members and veterans addresses concerns like trauma and mood disorders, addressing the root cause of challenges while actively involving family in care.
Patients receive individual, group, and family therapy, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and trauma-informed care, with approaches like prolonged exposure (PE) therapy. These approaches help clients develop coping skills, reframe negative thought patterns, and reduce emotional distress. Methods like recreational therapy, art, wellness activities, and equine therapy support healing in both mind and body.
La Amistad’s peaceful campus includes private and shared rooms—many with in-room bathrooms—and offers nutritious meals daily. Patients can relax in indoor lounges, enjoy outdoor spaces, and take part in recreation like swimming and volleyball. Separate spaces for outpatient and residential programs maintain structure and create a focused environment for each stage of recovery.

2. Active Treatment

Evidence-based therapies including 1-on-1 Counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, typically 90 days.

Regular progress reviews, skill-building sessions, and adjustment of your treatment plan.

4. Aftercare Planning

Continued support, relapse prevention strategies, and connections to community resources for lasting recovery.
