Owned and operated privately by licensed physicians, LifeSync Malibu serves clients looking for detox from alcohol or drug addiction, as well as provide a residential healing space for clients with substance use or mental health disorders. They even treat smoking. Clients tend to stay 7-60 days for substance use treatment and 30-90 days for mental health treatment. LifeSync's therapies include cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing. Their experiential options include psychodrama therapy, art therapy, music therapy, eye movement therapy (EMDR) to reprocess painful memories, medication management, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to reduce cravings, somatic experiencing, and yoga. This 5,000-square-foot scenic location overlooks the coastal shores of Malibu. For clients seeking short-term crisis stabilization, LifeSync has a specialized facility a few blocks down the road. LifeSync Malibu serves clients of all ages. However, they have special resources to help young adults 18-26 navigate work, school, or life challenges that cause mental health issues or addiction. Their certified psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists is familiar with identifying and addressing common symptoms like personality changes, rapid weight changes, pupil changes, and risk-taking behavior. Young adult clients participate in therapies to address underlying psychological wounds, build self-esteem, develop effective communication skills, and build trust. For substance use disorders, LifeSync can connect young clients with 12-Step facilitation groups (like AA or NA) or non-12-Step alternatives like SMART.
