About Livingstone House
This treatment center in Birmingham works from an abstinence-based philosophy. It has 3 bedrooms with 2 beds in each room and 4 private rooms available. When patients come to Livingstone House, they are given a comprehensive action plan for how to heal from their drug or alcohol addiction. The plan can consist of blood borne virus screening, detox, residential treatment, vaccination if necessary, etc. Dentistry, sexual and physical health needs are also addressed in this program. While in this program, patients move through the first 3 steps of the 12 steps of recovery and write a Life Story. After the 3 steps are completed, they can move on to Livingstone Sanctuary for secondary treatment.
