Lutheran Social Services of SD Canyon Hills Center

Part of Lutheran Social Services, Canyon Hills Center is a residential treatment facility situated in the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota. The center empowers young individuals between 10 and 17 years old who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or educational challenges. The center fosters a safe and supportive environment for young individuals that promotes healing and growth from a Christian perspective. The center integrates a variety of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) groups and supports young people to manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in healthy ways. The center also provides specialized education programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. Additionally, the center offers extensive outdoor recreation opportunities and encourages community involvement, helping individuals develop their social skills and a sense of belonging. The Canyon Hills Center, licensed by the South Dakota Department of Social Services and accredited by the Council on Accreditation, provides 24/7 care and supervision in a structured and supportive living environment where children and teens are equipped with necessary skills and coping mechanisms to successfully transition back to their homes and communities.
