Focus

This center primarily treats substance use disorders, helping you stabilize, create relapse-prevention plans, and connect to compassionate support.

New Directions Sober Living is a program operated by New Directions Addiction Recovery Services (NDARS), a nonprofit based in Woodstock, Illinois. NDARS’s broader mission is to inspire recovery and foster community through accessible, sustainable, and community-driven programs addressing substance use disorders. New Directions Sober Living offers gender-specific sober living houses in the Chicagoland area, providing transitional housing for individuals recovering from substance use disorders. Residents receive support from case managers who help them rebuild their lives, including resume building, reclaiming lost driver’s licenses, paying off court fees, and setting and achieving personal and professional goals. The program serves clients who have completed rehab or those in early recovery who need a structured, sober living environment as their next step. NDARS runs three primary programs: the sober living houses, The Other Side (a sober‑bar community space), and Connect to Recovery, a volunteer‑driven call tree that connects callers with support, interventions, transportation, and follow‑up as needed. Sober living costs are approximately $180 per week and are not billed to insurance, offering an affordable option for those in recovery.
