Focus

This center primarily treats substance use disorders, helping you stabilize, create relapse-prevention plans, and connect to compassionate support.

Founded in 2009, Passages Ventura was created by father and son duo Chris and Pax Prentiss. Chris made a holistic program to help save his son’s life from addiction, and after Pax became sober, they decided to open up their facility to help others struggling with the same issues that Pax did. Pax found holistic therapies after attempting traditional 12-Step Facilitation programs. Their services range from drug and alcohol detox and residential inpatient to outpatient and sober living homes. Their residential program has a strong focus on holistic therapies. These treatments include massage, hypnotherapy, personal training, psychotherapy, and spiritual counseling. Their staff start with a blood and urine analysis to understand the client's medical picture. They also include a variety of group treatment, which involves reintegration activity, process group, designing your new life, and reiki. This is all done at their facility in Ventura which boasts beautiful outdoor seating, gardens, and a fitness center. Each client has access to a 10-person treatment team. Passages can facilitate spiritual care. Their program is designed around self-love and developing clarity. Passages' outpatient offerings include day treatment for 6-7 hours a day, 5 days a week and an intensive outpatient (IOP) program 3-4 hours a day for 3-5 days a week. Passages intends for these outpatient options to be step-downs from residential treatment that help clients set work or career goals, develop community, and continue toward long-term recovery. Similar to the main residential treatment house, Passages’ sober living homes are well-designed and located 2 blocks from the beach. This program offers a continued plan of support. Passages Ventura’s philosophy is that their clients are not addicts, but rather a good person that is dependent on a substance due to other life events. Their goal is to break this stigma and help their patients find the “cure” towards a happier and healthier life.
