Gratitude House offers individual therapy, combining
cognitive behavioral therapy (
CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (
DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Clients engage in
group therapy, including relapse prevention and 12-Step groups to encourage long term recovery.
Residents can work, volunteer, and pursue education while receiving treatment. Clients engage in life skills training, including resume building, job application support, goal setting, and housing planning. They receive education on a broad range of topics, including nutrition and spirituality. Clients already participating in medication-assisted treatment (
MAT) will be able to continue doing so at their provider, while Gratitude House will help arrange treatment for clients who wish to pursue it after their stay. Most residents stay at Gratitude House for about 90 days.
Evidence-Based Context: According to SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health (2023), approximately 48.7 million Americans aged 12 or older had a substance use disorder in the past year. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) emphasizes that treatment programs combining behavioral therapy with medication-assisted approaches show the highest rates of sustained recovery. Facilities like Pyramid Altoona Gratitude House provide structured pathways to evidence-based care.
