Located on 15 peaceful acres in Herald, California, River City Recovery Center’s Altua Village provides 24-hour residential treatment for adults living with substance use disorders. Guided by a mission to support emotional, physical, and behavioral healing, this ranch-style campus offers gender-specific programs and a low client-to-counselor ratio to ensure each participant receives focused, compassionate care rooted in structure, dignity, and hope.
The center combines evidence-based therapies with daily routines to promote long-term wellness. Clients participate in individual counseling, process groups, life skills education, and recovery meetings. Licensed and certified staff tailor treatment to each person’s needs, while a senior resident program gives participants the chance to deepen their recovery skills and ease the transition toward independence with mentorship and ongoing support.
Clients reside in gender-specific shared accommodations across multiple homes designed to foster connection and stability. The serene natural environment supports reflection and healing, while scheduled family visits help rebuild vital support systems. Every aspect of the center—from its calming outdoor spaces to its caring team—encourages meaningful growth, personal responsibility, and the confidence to reclaim a life free from addiction.

Evidence-based therapies including 1-on-1 Counseling and Group Therapy, typically 30 days.

3. Progress & Recovery

Regular progress reviews, skill-building sessions, and adjustment of your treatment plan.

4. Aftercare Planning

Continued support, relapse prevention strategies, and connections to community resources for lasting recovery.
