About Solstice West

Solstice West is a countryside residential home for girls ages 14-18 that specializes in helping adolescents struggling with trauma, loss, and addictive behaviors. Solstice West is one of the leading trauma centers for teens and offers a specialized approach to initiate and complete the healing process. Trauma-focused interventions can include trauma-focused CBT, equine therapy, EMDR, DBT, somatic experiencing, and brainspotting. Solstice West puts a strong emphasis on family therapy-based intervention, nutrition, physical fitness, and academics. As one of the leading therapy boarding schools, Solstice has designed their academic program to meet the students where they are and to help them develop an individualized academic plan. A typical day involves morning breakfast followed by a work out session. Afternoons involve school classes, therapy groups, and free time. Evening is set for chores, free time, reflection, and journaling.
Solstice West is located just outside of Salt Lake City, nestled in the Wasatch mountains. The 44-bed facility offers a welcoming community that feels inviting and comfortable. Students can participate in overnight adventure trips that provide opportunities to apply outdoor skills. Trips can include mountain biking in Moab, hiking in Zion National Park, whitewater rafting in Jackson, Utah, rock climbing, and canoeing in the Uinta mountains. Solstice West is a well-rounded program, complete with a compassionate staff and idyllic location.
