Square Medical Group River House

Square Medical Group River House is a residential treatment center near the Greater Boston area. It helps adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Their mission is to improve lives through expert care and support. The program offers several levels of care, including group and individual therapy, life skills training, and medication-assisted treatment to promote long-term recovery.
The center uses proven therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and medication management to treat each person’s needs. Group and individual sessions help clients build coping skills, manage emotions, and stay on track with recovery. Neuropsychological testing is also available to better understand how the brain affects behavior.
Clients live in a safe, supportive home setting where they learn life skills and build routines. Staff guide residents through three program phases, each offering more freedom and responsibility. Everyone takes part in keeping the house clean and works closely with staff to develop habits for healthy, independent living.

A clinical team evaluates your history, needs, and goals to create a personalized plan.

2. Active Treatment

Evidence-based therapies including 1-on-1 Counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, typically 90 days.

3. Progress & Recovery

Regular progress reviews, skill-building sessions, and adjustment of your treatment plan.

4. Aftercare Planning

Continued support, relapse prevention strategies, and connections to community resources for lasting recovery.
