STAND! For Families Free of Violence offers a Children's Counseling Program designed to support children who have witnessed or experienced family violence or abuse. Utilizing play therapy and other age-appropriate therapeutic methods, the program helps children understand their feelings, build trust, enhance self-worth, and develop coping and conflict resolution skills. Additionally, an on-site program at the Rollie Mullen Center provides a stable daily environment with caring professional staff and therapeutic treatment for these children. STAND! For Families Free of Violence has been working in Contra Costa County since the 1970s. In the late 1990s the County organized a more unified approach to fighting domestic violence and since 2001, STAND! has been working alongside Contra Costa County to provide early intervention, safety for victims and their children, and better access to services for families in crisis.
