Focus

This center treats mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use. You receive collaborative, individualized treatment that addresses both issues for whole-person healing.

Located in Pikeville, Kentucky, the center offers safe, therapeutic care for boys and girls ages 12 to 18 who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma. This Christ-centered, non-profit center provides round-the-clock residential treatment. Sunrise helps youth heal emotionally, grow in faith, and prepare to return home or transition into foster care. Sunrise uses a mix of personal and group therapy, guided by licensed therapists. Kids take part in trauma-informed counseling, behavioral therapy, and skill-building activities. Staff members help each child feel heard and supported. Sunrise also partners with local schools to make sure education continues on-site, tailored to each student’s needs. Residents live in shared cottages with their own personal space and caring adult supervision. They eat healthy, home-style meals together and join daily routines that include school, therapy, and fun activities like sports, crafts, and worship. Sunrise creates a stable, structured environment where every child can feel safe, valued, and loved.
