Tamarack Center offers residential psychiatric treatment for adolescents ages 12 to 17 in a structured 16-bed facility. With 24/7 care, on-site schooling, and a high staff-to-resident ratio, the center supports teens experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidal ideation, and other mental health challenges. The goal is to help youth stabilize and return to their communities with strength and hope.
Each resident receives an individualized treatment plan shaped by a dedicated team of professionals. Teens participate in individual, family, and
group therapy, medication management, and skill-building groups using eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and dialectical behavior therapy (
DBT). Daily routines also include recreation therapy and schoolwork, promoting both emotional regulation and academic progress within a safe, healing environment.
Family involvement begins at admission and continues through weekly therapy, on- and off-site visits, and active participation in discharge planning. Teens bring personal items like clothes, hygiene products, and music players (without cameras), while the center provides essentials. With a balance of structure, safety, and warmth, residents experience a path to healing that feels both supported and empowering.
Evidence-Based Context: According to SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health (2023), approximately 48.7 million Americans aged 12 or older had a substance use disorder in the past year. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) emphasizes that treatment programs combining behavioral therapy with medication-assisted approaches show the highest rates of sustained recovery. Facilities like Tamarack Center provide structured pathways to evidence-based care.
