About Williamsville Wellness

Situated on 400 acres of peaceful farmland lies Williamsville Wellness, a residential treatment center that specializes in treating substance use disorder and gambling addiction. Since opening in 2007, Williamsville is one of the few centers in Virginia that caters primarily to gambling addiction. Their key to success begins with individual attention. Williamsville offers 15 one-on-one sessions per week grounded in traditional talk therapy, trauma-informed approaches, schema therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy. While the heart of the program is rooted in individual therapy, Williamsville provides a healthy balance of holistic therapies that include gym time with a personal trainer, massage therapy, art therapy, yoga, and hypnotherapy. In addition to residential therapy, Williamsville offers an online Day Treatment (PHP) for substance abuse. The 28-day program consists of 5 treatment days, Monday through Friday. This includes a 3-hour group session from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. with an individual session daily. Williamsville believes that long-term recovery and wellness is gained through ongoing treatment and support. They work closely with the client to develop an individualized after care plan that includes transitioning into outpatient support and psychiatric/medical follow-ups.
Williamsville Wellness has 4 residential properties. The Cabaniss Lane house, located in Richmond, Virginia, is a renovated home that hosts a total of 16 residents. The charming estate and beautiful surroundings makes this facility truly unique. Clients will enjoy gourmet meals prepared by in-house chefs along with plenty of recreational outings and off-site events. Williamsville Wellness truly cares about their clients by offering a 1:1 client to therapist ratio in a comfortable, supportive environment.

Evidence-Based Context: According to SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health (2023), approximately 48.7 million Americans aged 12 or older had a substance use disorder in the past year. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) emphasizes that treatment programs combining behavioral therapy with medication-assisted approaches show the highest rates of sustained recovery. Facilities like Williamsville Wellness provide structured pathways to evidence-based care. Sources: SAMHSA NSDUH 2023, NIDA Principles of Drug Addiction Treatment (4th Ed.)
