Winding Staircase Recovery is a women's
sober living home based in Marietta, Georgia, founded by Jenny Novoselsky, an educator and woman in long-term recovery. Motivated by her own journey, she established the home to provide education, love, and support to women in early recovery, aiming to help them build fulfilling, joyful lives. The staff, including the house manager, are all in recovery themselves, bringing personal experience and empathy to their roles. The home offers a safe, structured environment where women can share wisdom and experiences to foster new thinking and behavioral patterns.
The program at Winding Staircase Recovery requires a minimum six-month commitment and includes personalized recovery coaching, career development mentoring, relapse prevention strategies, mindfulness training, and community meetings. Residents engage in weekly one-on-one coaching sessions, attend at least six recovery meetings per week, and participate in community meetings focused on mindfulness and relapse prevention. Additional support includes productivity mentoring, financial literacy education, and encouragement to pursue work, education, or volunteer opportunities.
The facility is fully furnished and designed to foster community with an open-concept kitchen and living area, patio, and proximity to public transportation and employment opportunities. Located just 0.3 miles from The Zone, a Recovery Community Organization, residents have access to a wealth of resources including recovery meetings, coaching, a computer lab, thrift store, yoga, and more. This close partnership enhances the support network available to residents, promoting long-term recovery and personal growth.
