Focus

This center treats substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Your treatment plan addresses each condition at once with personalized, compassionate care for comprehensive healing.

Young People in Recovery (YPR) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young adults, ages 18-24, in achieving long-term recovery from substance use disorders. YPR focuses on empowering individuals through advocacy, education, and peer support, creating pathways to recovery that are accessible and tailored to the unique needs of young people. The organization strives to break the stigma surrounding addiction and recovery, fostering environments where individuals can thrive. At the Berkeley Chapter of Young People in Recovery, we’re dedicated to creating a vibrant and inclusive community for anyone seeking recovery, supporting someone in recovery, or simply wanting to learn more. We proudly serve the Berkeley area, offering resources, peer support, and opportunities to connect no matter where you are on your recovery journey. We believe in having fun in recovery, and we regularly host bi-weekly pro-social events that showcase just how enjoyable and fulfilling life can be without substances. From social outings to shared activities, these events are all about building connections, celebrating recovery, and highlighting what’s possible. In addition, we hold weekly All Recovery Meetings that are open to anyone—whether you’re in recovery yourself or a supportive ally. These meetings provide a safe and welcoming space for everyone to find the support they need, regardless of the recovery pathway they choose. What sets YPR apart is its focus on advocacy and building recovery-ready communities. By working with policymakers and stakeholders, YPR helps create systemic change to support individuals in recovery. This holistic approach, combined with its emphasis on peer-driven care, makes YPR a transformative resource for young adults striving for recovery and a brighter future.
