Focus

This center primarily treats substance use disorders, helping you stabilize, create relapse-prevention plans, and connect to compassionate support.

Arlington Center for Recovery has specialized in treating substance abuse and addiction, providing private outpatient treatment, since 1996. They offer a client-centered approach with individual assessments and personalized recovery plans tailored to fit each individual’s unique needs. Their services include intensive outpatient programs, anger management groups, court mandated services, and individual counseling for adults who are struggling with addiction. Arlington Center for Recovery (ARC) provides comprehensive and individualized treatment for substance abuse disorders through their intensive outpatient program (IOP) and outpatient programs (OP). After a thorough assessment is completed, clients will receive their personally tailored treatment plans. Patients participating in IOP will attend sessions 3 days per week for 3 hours per day, with sessions conveniently offered in the mornings and the evenings. IOP is their highest level of care, focusing on providing the relapse prevention and life skills needed to achieve long-term sobriety. Clients typically attend 8 weeks of IOP, working toward acceptance using the principles of the 12-step program. The outpatient programs at ARC encourage family members to participate in the treatment process and be involved in communication, support, and rebuilding trust. Drug and alcohol addiction treatment is also offered through their outpatient program (OP), which focuses on providing education, problem solving skills, and addressing underlying emotions or life challenges that may contribute to substance abuse. Clients may continue with the outpatient program after completing IOP as part of their aftercare plan, participating in individual, group, or family therapy sessions on an on-going basis. In addition to substance abuse treatment, ARC also offers court mandated DUI and anger management programs. Their DUI program consists of an initial meeting with a certified addiction counselor that will determine the most appropriate course of treatment based on a risk assessment. Depending on the results, clients will complete a 10 hour risk education class, early intervention counseling, outpatient counseling, and a continuing care plan. The DUI programs at ARC meet the requirements of the courts, probation, Secretary of State, and employers in the state of Illinois. Their anger management program focuses on helping individuals or couples identify causes and deal more effectively with their anger. Counselors at ARC are certified by the National Anger Management Association (NAMA), and help provide the coping skills needed to resolve conflict and appropriately express anger. Through 8 90 minute sessions, clients are supported in identifying triggers, learning coping mechanisms, and developing anger management strategies. Sessions may include lectures, group discussions, videos, handouts, and quizzes. Each client who completes the 8 week program will receive written certification.
