About Silkworth Lodge

Silkworth Lodge is the only drug and alcohol treatment facility in the Channel Islands. It is located on Jersey, the largest of the islands just north of Normandy, France. Silkworth brings hope and healing to anyone affected by addiction by offering programs for adults, young adults, adolescents, and their families. Silkworth Lodge gets its name from an original champion of Alcohol Anonymous, Dr. Willam Duncan Silkworth, who is considered a saint among the original founders of AA for his research and work with recovering alcoholics.
Silkworth Lodge offers a variety of programs including on-site medical detox, residential care, secondary treatment, a family program, a young adult program, a children's program, and an education program. All programs combine 12-Step programming with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), relapse prevention, educational workshops, group therapy, fitness, and nutrition. Upon arrival, each client is assigned a "recovery buddy” to help with the transition and recovery process. Once clients have completed the 30 day residential program, there is an option for extended care at a sober living home for secondary treatment. In secondary care, clients live in a group setting, share household responsibilities, and have access to 24/7 staff support.
The Silkworth Lodge is a community-centric, intimate setting that can accommodate up to 12 clients. The family-style residence offers comfortable accommodations on a beautifully remote island. Food at the Lodge is prepared by in-house chefs who focus on nutritious meals in support of healthy living. There is no gym in the facility, but weekly trips to a local gym are a required part of rehabilitation. The Silkworth Lodge is a great place for those seeking a 12-Step program in a discreet location.
